Sherman Oaks is close to two major freeways and serves as a gateway to the San Fernando Valley. The community is located on the southern perimeter of the Valley between the communities of Studio City and Encino. Sherman Oaks real estate is comprised of level acreage North of Ventura Blvd. and a hilly terrain South of Ventura Blvd. Many of these homes take in sweeping  view . The community encompasses 8 square miles and has a population of 53,000 people. Sherman Oaks was one of the first San Fernando Valley communities to experience intensive real estate development.

The community is very centrally located. The intersection of the San Diego and Ventura freeways as well as canyon  routes to the L.A. basin  are all located within Sherman Oaks.
