Burbank´s history began when a New Hampshire dentist headed west with thousands of Americans seeking new opportunities. Along with pioneers like Isaac Lankershim and Isaac Van Nuys who were instrumental in changing the face of the San Fernando Valley.
Burbank is an upper-middle class community with a small town feel offering great access to Southern California freeways such as the Golden State Freeway, Ventura Freeway and the Foothill Freeway making it only minutes away by car to the cool Hollywood clubs and restaurants. Many of Burbank´s residents work at the local studios such as, Walt Disney, Warner Bros., NBC, Mad Dog and other local studios. The Metro operates public transportation throughout Los Angeles County, and commuters utilize the Metrolink and Amtrak to get to Downtown and Union Station, or to Ventura and north to Palmdale and further beyond. Burbank also has its own Bob Hope Airport and its own landmark, the oldest remaining Bob´s Big Boy Restaurant in America.
Some of Burbank´s key highlites are the Philharmonic Orchestra, the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, the Starlight Bowl, fine restaurants, the city's Downtown Burbank Mall, "Burbank Village" shopping district, and many theatres, parks, libraries, Costco, Ikea and is within close proximity to other entertainment and attractions that Los Angeles offers.
Horse lovers enjoy living in the Rancho Equestrian District, with Griffith Park to the south with its walking trails & picnic areas, Victory Boulevard to the east, Keystone Street to the west and Alameda Avenue to the north - many of the homes have stables and stalls with horses in the back yard. |
